At home they call me Sâm. Maybe because of Lại Văn Sâm, or because I was thin and often wheezing as a kid, and they hoped I would grow as strong as ginseng.
A moment from work.
I work as a software engineer in fintech, mostly backend, and I have also done frontend and AI. I like taking things apart to see how they work, then building something useful.
I am also studying business and finance. In spare time I train kickboxing, listen to rap, watch films, and play games. This blog is where I write down what I have learned, and the questions I still have not closed.
Some of them are about work. Some of them are not.
What do I actually do?
I work with the computer in the back.
I build the system behind the things you do in a mobile app or on a website. That part is usually called the backend. When you sign in, place an order, or send money, this system takes the request, processes it, stores the data, and connects the pieces so the whole thing keeps moving. The interface is what you see and touch. The backend is the quiet machine behind it, where the messy business rules live. With money, a small mistake can become an expensive story. My job is to write the code so that machine stays correct, holds up as more people use it, and does not suddenly die while it is running.

I was born and grew up in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, and I love swimming and diving. Right now I can swim 1 km in about 30 minutes. If this blog has a lot of sea, waves, and small islands, that is why.

I have a master's degree in computer science from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, VNU-HCM. Finishing the degree did not mean I was done learning, so I keep going: through the work, through trying things, and through the times I get them wrong.

I like building and selling.
I like making a product, and I also like hearing what a customer actually needs and finding a way to sell what I made. Someone who wants to use it, and then comes back, is what makes me want to make the next version better.
I used to trade.
For a while I traded quite a lot. The best result I reached was growing an account ten times from a starting capital of a bit more than 10,000 USD. I mention it as personal experience. One result does not describe the whole road.
So now you know a bit more.
